Love Lost

1 Aug, 2019

In yesterday’s dream of paradise,

I found you loitering among the shadows.

And today you are nowhere to be seen.

Tomorrow perhaps you shall appear again.

So many changing seasons in the space of a few breaths.

Our hearts withered and dry like aged leather.

More bitter than sweet.

Resonant calamities clamour,

Every time you show yourself.

Hornets of grief and regret swarming in the once rooms of our affection,

That mirage of what might have been, crumbled,

Its shards scattered across the faces of our children,

While we shiver in the rooflessness of a love lost.
